Always be learning! Inspire a deep and lifelong love of reading with JCPL's 500 Books Before Middle School, a literacy program for elementary-age students. Be ready for all middle school has to offer by taking up the challenge!

South County Bookmobile
Starting May 3rd – Ken Caryl Bookmobile stop becomes South County Bookmobile stop.
South County Bookmobile will be at the future home of the South County Library every Saturday 11:00am – 3:00pm.
Bookmobile offers many services: Help from friendly staff, check out and returns, holds pick-up, Summer Challenge registration and prizes, and the Bookmobile also has programs!
Bookmobile programs at South County this spring and summer are:
Saturday 5/3 - Star Wars Day Lightsabers – 1:00-2:00pm
Celebrate Star Wars Day early by customizing your very own lightsaber! Create a detailed hilt and choose a blade color that reflects your Jedi ways. May the 4th be with you!
Saturday 5/31 – Summer Challenge Kickoff Party at South County – 12:00-2:00pm
Celebrate the start of the 2025 Summer Challenge! Unleash your creativity with colorful crafts, enter our sidewalk chalk art show and collect your first prize when you register for the Summer Challenge.
Saturday 6/7 – Rainbow Tie-Dye at South County – 1:00-2:30pm
Bring a white T-shirt, tote bag, or any other cloth object to the South County Bookmobile and turn it into a one-of-a-kind fashion statement!
Saturday 6/21 – Make Your Own Pinata – 1:00-2:30pm
Saturday 7/19 – Messy Science Fair – 1:00-2:30pm
