Collective Commitments - How must we operate in order to make our shared vision a reality?

The Principal will commit to:

  • Facilitate the development, articulation and implementation of our shared mission, vision and commitments throughout the school community.
  • Seek to promote the leadership capabilities of students, staff, and community members.
  • Support the PLC structures to ensure the development and implementation of interventions for all students.
  • Ensure appropriate interventions are available and students are held accountable for attending.
  • Support team collaboration opportunities with time and structure.
  • Communicate with teams and individuals on a continuous basis.
  • Hold everyone accountable, including myself, for participating in and implementing the decisions of teams and school committees.
  • Monitor and ensure all teachers are using best practices in the classroom.
  • Celebrate individual and team effort and achievements.
  • Contribute to the development and continued success of high performing collaborative teams.
  • Model, monitor and enforce student and adult behaviors that contribute to a safe and orderly learning environment.
  • Promote high academic and behavioral expectations for ALL students, while implementing school wide improvements and opportunities for individual students who do not initially meet these expectations.
  • Streamline the management of our school’s operations, resources, and finances to provide a safe, healthy, and well-organized environment whose primary focus is student learning.

The teachers will commit to:

  • Facilitate differentiated learning activities to engage all students.
  • Set high expectations for teachers and students.
  • Use best practices in the classroom to stimulate student engagement.
  • Use data to drive instructional decisions.
  • Being a contributing member of each collaborative team.
  • Participate in reflective team activities to strengthen instruction and assessment practices.
  • Invest in the emotional well being of the whole child and the greater community.
